While we’ve seen some pretty impressive staircases inside homes, a three-bedroom cottage just doesn’t offer the opportunity to be so, shall we say … adventurous with stairs. 1. “Tiger & Turtle – Magic Mountain” in Duisburg, Germany

Created out of zinc and steel by the German artists Heike Mutter and Ulrich Genth, this 69-foot tall staircase feels like a walkable roller coaster. Physics (and a no-entry sign) will stop you from making it over the the loop, but there are LED lights built into the handrails so visitors can appreciate this 249-step climb even at night.
